Lyons – Mamie "Betty" Elizabeth Lyons, age 83, of Glen St. Mary, Florida went to her Heavenly home on October 16, 2021 at St. Vincent's Riverside in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born February 12, 1938 in Macclenny, Florida to the late Morris A. Crews and Mamie Anderson Crews. Betty was raised in Baldwin, Florida. She was introduced to the love of her life, Francis Eugene Lyons, by a family friend and they were happily married on May 6, 1977. Shortly after marriage, Betty and Gene relocated to Baker County and joined Sanderson Congregational Holiness Church where she was member for the past 44 years. Betty loved her Lord and Savior and thoroughly enjoyed attending church, reading her Bible, and worshipping. She played piano and sang in church and served as a Pastors wife for many years. Betty also enjoyed tending to her family as a homemaker and was known for the best chicken and rice and chicken and dumplings. She enjoyed cooking and feeding family and friends, but more than anything, Betty loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Tommy Crews, Irma Jean Anderson, and Sarah Lilian Burnsed; loving husband of 41 years, Francis Eugene "Gene" Lyons; sons, Kevin and Dale Crawford; and daughter, Roberta Lyons.

Betty is survived by her children, John Crawford, Craig (Vickie) Crawford, and Oral E. (Diane) Lyons all of Glen St. Mary, FL, Joan Marie (Rocky) Sapp of Sanderson, FL, and Anita Karen (Terry) McGinnis of Atlanta, GA; sister, Mary Lee Chessman of Glen St. Mary, FL; 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Betty's life will be held Thursday, October 21, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Sanderson Congregational Holiness Church with Pastor Oral Lyons and Pastor Justin Griffis officiating. Interment will follow at Sellers Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
