She was born in 1919 and passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 101 years.
She was the daughter of the late Fred & Louise Elliott Allen.
Dorothy was an elementary school teacher for 21 years with the Guilderland School System and prior to that worked for 10 years as a teacher with the Albany City School System.
She was a member of the Women's Council of the Albany Institute of History and Art, the Shaker Heritage Society and the NYS Retired Teachers Association.
Dorothy was a deeply spiritual soul who always had a kind word or gesture for everyone she met. She loved to express herself in poetry or verse and with unique and creative arts & crafts. She was always first in line to assist others in need. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
A graveside service will be at Memory Gardens, Albany.
