Leona Agnes ""Poopsie"" Willis, age 79, of Kinross, Michigan passed Sunday morning, November 22, 2015 at her home.
Leona was born June 6, 1936 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to the late Frederick and Josephine (Shampine) Bonno. She enjoyed going to the casino, fishing, playing cards, hunting, and playing video games. She especially enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She was a member of the Sault Tribe of Chippewa Indians, and St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church. Leona worked for many years as a nurse aid at Sunset Manor.
Leona is survived by her husband: James Willis; children: Pamela Harrison of California, Charlene Demo of Mt Clemens, MI, Robert (Debbie) Isrow of Warren, MI, Beverly Joyce (Ed) Lothrop of Brimley, MI and Barbara Isrow of Kincheloe, MI; grandchildren: Kirk Chouvin, Sheila Willey, Jason Isrow, Brett Isrow, Derek Harrison, Robbie Isrow, Amanda Isrow, Page Houghton, Mystique Isrow, Nick Demo, and Marco Demo; and great grandchildren: Mackenzie, Mason, Jayden, Alex, Marley, James, Anthony, Emily, Paynton, Nathan, Carmen, Presley, Gavin, Teegan, Taylor and Harlee. Leona is also survived by her brothers: Adolf (Karen) Bonno of Florida and Clyde Bonno of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; and a sister: Marie King of Florida.
Leona is preceded in death with her mother: Josephine Shampine; her father: Freddy Bonno; her late husband: Marvin Ailing; a granddaughter: Brandy Isrow; a sister: Elvira McLeod; a brother: William Bonno; a nephew: Adolf Bonno; and a special friend: Shirley Gardner.
A time of gathering will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Niigaanagiizhik Ceremonial Building. A memorial service will be held at the Ceremonial Building that same day at 1 p.m. with Brother John Hascall officiating.
