Author. Born Carmel Navarro Llombart in Valencia, Llombart was a main representative of the Spanish writers in Valencian language. He began his career as a journalist and he worked with his close friend, the author Vicente Blasco Ibáñez. LLombart then became a member of the cultural and political movement known as Renaixença. He contributed as a founder of the association "Lo Rat Penat" to restoring the Valencian language, in an unity with the Catalan language, with a movement largely founded on Romantic ideals and a nostalgic yearning for the past. His most known works, both in Valencian and Spanish language, include "Los Fills de la Morta Viva," "Niu d'Abelles: Epigrames Llemosins" and "La Cruz Blanca."
