Tammy was born September 26, 1964 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Dennis and the late Mary Frances Harper of York, South Carolina. Tammy was a devoted daughter, sister, friend, mother, grandmother ("Nana"), and Christian.

Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Frances Nichols Harper of York, S.C. Tammy is survived by her father Dennis Harper, Sr. (Arbie) of Gastonia, North Carolina. Her four children; Ronnie McGill of Houston, Texas, Chelsie Adams of Clover, South Carolina, Mary Beth Holmes (Stephen) of York, South Carolina, and Harley Adams (Savannah) of Rancho Cucamonga, California. Her six grandchildren; Ella Cooley (9), Harper Holmes (6), Hayden Holmes (4), Everly Cooley (3), Dash Adams (2), and London Adams (6 months). Her four siblings; Dennis Harper Jr. "Kenny" (Wendy) of York, South Carolina, Vanessa Stephens (Keith) of York, South Carolina, Bobby Harper Sr. (Rebecca) of Lake Wylie, South Carolina, and Joanna Powell (Jerry) all of York, South Carolina.

Tammy graduated from York Comprehensive High School in 1982 and in 1985 from the American Academy of Hair Styling of Gastonia, NC.

Tammy had a love for children, spending 15 years working as a teacher's assistant at Kinard Elementary School in Clover, South Carolina. Her love for children was well known in her community. She was the go-to care taker for children of family, friends, and neighbors for many years. Simply put, Tammy was a kid person through and through! Tammy was a strong willed, independent woman of God. She loved the beach, country music, a good yard sale, bargain shopping, and a cold diet sun-drop.

Tammy was a member of Gastonia First Assembly of God in Gastonia, NC.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday October 20, 2021 at Carothers Funeral Home, 2205 Williamsburg Drive, Gastonia, NC.

A memorial service to celebrate Tammy's life and legacy will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday October 21, 2021 at Gastonia First Assembly of God Church, 777 Myrtle School Road, Gastonia, NC.

The interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont, North Carolina following the Celebration of Tammy's life.
