Debra Kay Garrett, 59, of Morgantown went to heaven Thursday, Oct. 14, 2021.

She was born Feb. 12, 1962, to the late Jane and Charles Garrett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Logan Garrett Slater, and her brother, David Garrett.

She was the only daughter of four children.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kristina (Jim) Locklar and Kaylea (Aaron) Manley; her two brothers, Danny Garrett and Darren Heston; her long-time partner, Shane Bequeath; and several nieces, nephews and extended family. She especially loved her "Goobug," Tessa Heston (niece).

Debbie attended Morgantown High School and was a proud Mohigan. She enjoyed being on the move, whether it was visiting friends and family or listening to live music. She especially loved being outdoors and loved her time tanning by the pool and going to Cheat Lake. She was an animal lover and especially loved her fur baby Zoey. She often cooked for the family and always had pepperoni rolls ready for gatherings. She became "Mama D." to many. She was a fiery red-head with the personality to match. She didn't know a stranger and always had a great story to tell.

A celebration of Debbie's life will be held at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Avenue, Westover, from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021, officiated by Pastor Dan Meadows. A social gathering will be held at Clinton District VFH, located at 1989 Grafton Road, 119 S., in Morgantown, at 1:30 p.m.
