Hubert- James Valentine Cross, 79, passed away Thursday, October 14,2021 at his home. He was born August 27,1942 in Brooklyn, NY a son to the late, James J. and Janet Valentine Cross.

A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, October 19,2021 at 11:00 AM at St. Mildred Catholic Church. Burial will be Thursday, October 21,2021 at 10:00 AM at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6-8 PM at Jones Funeral Home-Swansboro.

James faithfully served his country in the US Air Force and retired as a Lt. Col. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an active member of St. Mildred Catholic Church. He graduated from East Carolina College with his undergraduate and Masters and he loved antique cars and riding motorcycles with his friends the S.O.B (Sexy Older Bikers) group.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marguerite Stoffa Cross of the home; son, David Cross of Tampa, FL; daughter, Angela Branigan (Broc) of Tampa, FL; and grandchildren, Perry Cross, Jaden Cross, and Broc Branigan, II.
