Thomas J. Kitko, 81, of Madera, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at his daughter home in York, PA.
He was born on August 2, 1940 in Tubbs Crossing RD Madera, to the late Andrew H. and Margaret K. (Trella) Kitko.
Thomas was a 1958 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School. On June 29, 1963 in St. Barbara Catholic Church, he married Frances Gulbernat, who preceded him in death June 29, 2019. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He worked at the Kitko Saw Mill for over 50 years.
He was a former charter member of Knights of Columbus Our Lady of the Valley, where he was in the 4th degree assembly. He was a former 4-H Horse leader, and was a member of Madera Moose Lodge 1172.
He will be dearly missed by six daughters Vickie (Greg) Kokoskie of AL, Valerie (Jay) Horton of TX, Peggy (Tim) Smith of York, Amy (Tim) Bortner of York, Emilee (Mark) Tomco of York, and Susan (Jason Dullen) Kitko of Houtzdale; one brother, Andy Kitko, and six sisters, Rose Butterworth, Mary Ellen Kitko, Beverly (Ron) Bezilla, Noreen (Dennis) Deslongchamp, Rebecca (Tom) Kaspick, and Patricia (Richard) Maxwell.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, William Horton, Isabella Bortner, Gabriella Smith, Zachary Bortner, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, Donald, Robert, and Kenneth Kitko, and three sisters, Lorraine Snyder, Margaret Fundack, and Tess Hansel.
Friends will be received 4-7PM Sunday and 9:30-10:30 Monday at Kruise-Spewock Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., Ramey. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 AM Monday at Christ the King Parish, Houtzdale, with Fr. Zab Amar as celebrant. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Madera.
