Michael E. Parker, age 57 of Elwood, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie surrounded by his family following an unexpected illness. He was born January 31, 1964 in Elwood, the son of Bernie E. and Judy Kay (Harting) Parker. Mike was a 1983 graduate of Elwood Community High School. He worked as a caster for J. Lewis Small Co. in Elwood for the past 18 years. Mike was a true Indianapolis Colts Football fan. He enjoyed fishing and spending time outdoors. He had a very kind heart and enjoyed helping others as much as he could. Mike never met a stranger and loved making new friends. He was a member of the V.F.W Auxiliary, Sons of the American Legion, and the Elks Lodge. Mike spent as much time with his family as he could, and he was a true family man. More than anything, Mike loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Mike's family includes his father, Bernie Parker of Elwood; 3 children, Jessica Parker of Anderson, Joshua (wife Chassity) Parker of Elwood, and Jonathan Parker (Sarah Marshall) of Elwood; 3 sisters, Christina Parker of Elwood, Cherryl Adams of Elwood, and Cathleen (husband David) Martin of Elwood; 7 grandchildren, Karson, Emily, Aubree, Maci, Nathaniel, Audree, and McKenzie; and 12 nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his mother; grandparents, Edna (McPhearson) Harting-Bennett, Archie Harting, and Nelly Parker; and several aunts and uncles.

A funeral celebrating Mike's life will be conducted at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Copher-Felser-May Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Boyland officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday prior to the service at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home. Cremation will take place following the service and burial will take place at a later date in the Elwood City Cemetery. Health precautions for the safety of the family and visitors will include wearing face coverings and social distancing.
