Richard E. Parker, 82, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed away at 9:11 am October 1, 2021 at his residence. He was born May 8, 1939 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Albert and Marguerite (May) Parker. Richard married Anne White on July 22, 1961 in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

In addition to his loving wife of sixty years, Richard is survived by his son, Eric Parker and wife, Jenny of Spotsylvania, Virginia; daughter, Susan Poulakis of Chattanooga, Tennessee; brother, David Parker and wife, Judy of O'Fallon, Missouri; grandchildren, Jennifer Osborne and husband, Bobby, Christopher Parker, Sara Leepen and husband, Shane, Kaitlyn Poulakis, Jake Poulakis; several nieces and nephews; and special fur baby, Rese.

In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his sister, Janis Collins.

Mr. Parker proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 - 1961. He was stationed in Korea from 1960 - 1961.He graduated from Mount Vernon Township High School in 1957. Richard went onto Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky and graduated in 1970.
