Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fail.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Andrew Joseph Brown, age 34, died in a tragic accident at his workplace in Defiance, Ohio, on October 14, 2021. Born on October 31, 1986, in Boulder, Colorado, Andrew graduated from Columbine Highschool in 2005. While living in Ohio, after four years apprenticeship, he became a journeyman ironworker.

Andrew had a strong work ethic, loved his family and Polish heritage, and was a proud American who loved his country. He felt a true bond with animals, especially dogs. Andrew struggled most of his life with drug addiction, yet never let it define him as a person. As a result, he had empathy for all people, especially those in need, and truly never met a stranger. He will be remembered as a generous soul, willing to help anyone who needed him, funny and joy-filled, in spite of his challenges. He lived a life knowing the unconditional love of his family.

He is survived by his mother, Julie Anderson; sister, Ashley Brown; and grandparents, Joe and Rose Kolanko; along with a large extended family and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Dan Brown, and grandparents, Roger and Tina Brown.

The family suggests that anyone wanting to honor Andrew, consider a donation to The Cherry Street Mission, Toledo, Ohio, or the Lucas County Canine Care and Control, Toledo, Ohio.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at the Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, in Rossford, Ohio, on Thursday, October 21, starting at 4:00 pm, followed by a service at 6:30 pm that evening at the funeral home.
