Edward Howard Wright, age 79, of Hatfield, Arkansas died on Friday, October 15, 2021, at his home. He was born on Tuesday, May 12, 1942, to Harold Wayne Wright and Mary Grapes Wright in McKenzie, Tennessee.

Ed liked to say he was raised in the Air Force and then joined the Navy. He was born in McKenzie, Tennessee, then when he was two weeks old, rode on his Mom's lap to Bremerton, Washington. He spent the next several years moving where the family was stationed, Dalhart, Texas, Japan, Wichita, Kansas, Benton, Louisiana, finally settling and finishing high school in Hatfield. He and Bill constantly were in trouble for bringing "weapons" to school. Ed loved his farm, loved camping, fishing, and hunting. He was an excellent archer and was banned from a local turkey shoot for hitting the bull's eye too many times with his arrows. (It was a rifle shoot!) His favorite spot was either on the lake or at home on the farm. His favorite thing to do, especially in later years, was to be the "storyteller". It did not matter that his stories were sometimes embellished with Ed-isms, he could make you believe it actually happened! Ed was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mary Wright; and two brothers, Bill Wright and Randy Wright.

Ed is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Wright of Hatfield; three sons and daughter in law, Mark D. Wright of Fayetteville, Eric and Emily Turner of Mena, and Lucas Turner of Mena; one daughter and son in law, Molly and Travis Clark of Fayetteville; two sisters and brothers in law, Jeannie and Jay of Pennsylvania, and Shirley and Bill Sanden of Colorado Springs; eight grandchildren, Suannah Clark, Kodye Clark, Klayton Clark, Emma Turner, Jacob Turner, Bailey Turner, Braedon Turner, and Bracey Turner; several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 25, 2021, at 10:00 AM at the Zafra Church in Zafra, Oklahoma. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena, Arkansas.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations are sent to your favorite Veteran charity.
