On the evening of October 5, 2021, Lillian Fuller of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully of natural causes with family at her side. She was 100 years old. Lillian was born in San Francisco, CA on august 29, 1921. After growing up in San Francisco and Oakland, CA Lillian was the first in her family to attend college. Having graduated from the College of the Pacific in 1943, Lillian entered into military service. During her two and a half years in the US Coast Guard she rose to the rank of Lieutenant JG and was honorably discharged in 1946. In that same year she married Carl W. Fuller and they remained happily married until his death in 2007. They moved to Indianapolis in 1952, settling first in Speedway and later on the north side of the city.

In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Lillian actively participated in her community through the Indiana University Faculty Wives, the PTA, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Lillian took pride in her three decades as a docent at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, where she served on the Docent Council and as Chair of the Grade School Program.. She enjoyed travel, visiting relatives, word games, good books and lively conversations. Her last years were spent at Marquette Manor in Indianapolis, where she had many friends and was much beloved by the staff. She did not stop wanting to know, questioning everything, and delighting in what others knew. Her sharp mind and puckish sense of humor were with her to the last.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn E. Fuller, Mark W. Fuller (Penny), and Janita M. Fuller (Tom); and by grandchildren, Christopher M. Fuller, Drew C. Fuller (Angie), amelia M. Lamb and Robert R. Lamb (Johana).

A virtual remembrance is being planned for a later date, to be announced. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to Newfields.
