Curtis was a 1989 graduate of AC Reynolds High School. With his interest in electronics, he was certified in Information Technology. He worked for Tyco Valves and Control for 13 years. In his life, he instilled a sense of justice in his family. Curtis was never afraid to speak up or stand up for his rights or the rights of others. Curtis had a strong sense of humor. He enjoyed coaching youth basketball, technology, music, movies, and reading. He encouraged his children to "learn all they can". Curtis was a beloved husband, father, son, and friend.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his daughter, X-Zavia Young; maternal grandparents, Earlene Ellington Young and Lee Rogers Young; paternal grandparents, Margret Mitchell and James Mitchell.
In addition to his father, Booker T. Mitchell, left behind to cherish his precious memories they shared is his loving wife, Antoinette Young; five daughters, Shauntiqua, Akelia, and Mia all of Asheville, Tykara of Durham, NC, and Shakira of Lancaster, South Carolina; four sons, Jeremiah, Nehemiah, Dakarai, and Kevin; six grandchildren; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 pm Monday, October 18, 2021 in the chapel of Ray Funeral & Cremation Service.
