Betty Jones McGuire, age 83 of Malvern, died Thursday, September 16, 2021. She was born in Malvern on June 5, 1938, to the late Johnnie F. Jones and Ethel Mae Arnold Jones. Reared and receiving her early education in Malvern, she later attended Henderson State University, earning her Masters' Degree in Education. Betty taught school for over 35 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she attended the Friendship Sunday School Class. She was the widow of the late Jim McGuire, to whom she was married on March 26, 1971. They travelled the world together and enjoyed every minute of their adventures. Betty had served on the board of the Arkansas Teacher Retirement System. She was a member of the Hot Spring County Democratic Committee, a member of Democratic Women, and was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention when Bill Clinton was nominated for President of the United States. Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

She is survived by her daughters, Vicky Hohrine and her husband, David, of Malvern, and Mary Todd and her husband, Terry of Conway; her sister, Mary Anna Green, of Malvern; brother-in-law, Jack McGuire (Pat) of Bryant; three grandchildren, Katy Perkins (Jesse) of Barrington, Illinois, Heather Grigsby (John), of Malvern, and Andrew Todd of Conway; five great-grandchildren, Adelyn, Brooklyn, and Lane Grigsby, and Gaius Perkins, and Atticus Perkins.

Her funeral will be held at eleven o'clock Monday morning, September 20, 2021, in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church with Pastor Troy Conrad and Reverend Jesse Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Shadowlawn Cemetery under the direction of J. A. Funk Funeral Home.

A visitation at the church will precede the service by one hour, beginning at ten o'clock.

Masks will be required in the church.

Pallbearers will be John Green, Jim Green, Kevin Jones, Zach Green, Matt Green, and Chris Maranto.
