Robert was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher as well as on various church committees. He had a lifelong fascination for airplanes, and he enjoyed flying. Robert also served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a devoted and humble Christian, and family was his greatest joy. A faithful husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Harrill in 1968.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Diann Tate Harrill, his sons, Thad Michael Harrill and wife Gina of Forest City, Jason Matthew Harrill and wife Angela, and Kevin Joshua Harrill and wife Deana all of Harris. He also has seven grandchildren, Sydney Wilson, and husband Zach, Brenn Harrill, Grace Harrill, Weston Harrill, Annsley Harrill, Lynn Faith Harrill, and Katie Harrill.
The funeral service will be held at New Bethel Baptist Church at 2 o'clock on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends following the graveside service in the Gazebo at the cemetery.
