She was born Jan. 4, 1932, in Linwood, the daughter of Jesse L. and Opal L. Hamilton Tabor.
She grew up in Linwood and graduated in 1949 from Linwood High School.
She worked as a teller in the Fidelity Bank in Kansas City until 1954.
She married Robert E. Petrie June 4, 1954, in Linwood.
She was a homemaker and child care-giver from 1986 to 1990 and since her marriage she had lived in rural Lawrence.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; three sons, Robert E. Jr., Cary and Russell, all of Lawrence; two daughters, Lodema Lobb, Tonganoxie, and Diedra Evinger, Eudora; a brother, Jack Tabor, Kansas City, Kan.; a sister, Jennie Treff, Basehor, and six grandchildren.
