Raymond White, long-time retired resident of Knoxville, TN, passed away unexpectedly on August 30, 2021 at the age of 72 while in New York City.
He is predeceased by his parents Lewis White; Magdalene (Culberson) ; wife Debbie White; stepson, Brandon.
Raymond was born in Athens, TN on April 16, 1949.
He entered the Army where he served a long and distinguishing career.
In 2005, Raymond met Guigny Seck from Senegal, West Africa, the owner of Bamba African Hair Braiding in Knoxville, TN. Overtime he became good friends with many of the African people who lived in Knoxville.
Raymond is survived by his daughters; Kathy and Annie White; niece Guigny Seck and a host of other relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with Pastor Torey officiating.
The final resting place will be at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier) at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021. A dove release will conclude in his honor.
The family respectively asks that masks be worn and social distancing be practiced.
