Parents Jim Thomas Davis, Sr. and Myrtle Marie Chatman
Married Myra Coleen Coffey May 22, 1961 Wichita County, Texas

Jim Thomas (Toby) Davis, Jr., 78, of Petrolia, Texas peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 15th.
Toby was born on March 22, 1943 in Amarillo, Texas to Myrtle Chapman and Tom Davis. Growing up Toby enjoyed fast cars and working with his hands. He met the love of his life, Colleen, when he was only 14. They were married a few short years later and celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage together this past May.
Toby's heart of service was evident in everything he did, from how he loved and cared for his family to how he served his community. In 1978, he saw a need for automotive services in Petrolia so he opened Davis Automotive where he not only repaired peoples' cars but also was a listening ear and friend to anyone who came through his doors. After serving as a reserved sheriff deputy, Toby proudly assumed the role of Clay County Constable in 1993. He held that position for 19 years during which time he demonstrated empathy and kindness to every person he came into contact with no matter their situation.
Toby had a zeal for life that came from his faith in the Lord and his love for people. He was a longtime active member of Heritage Assembly of God and exhibited his faith in every aspect of his life. Of all the people he loved, there were none he loved more than his family. He was a dedicated husband, an active father, and an extraordinary papa. His family knew him for his perfectly timed wisdom and sense of humor. He made each of his kids and grandkids feel special every chance he got. Toby once said "We love our kids for as long as we have them," and that he did until the very end.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Marilyn Depew, and his youngest son, Timothy.
Toby is survived by his wife, Colleen of Petrolia; two sons, Steve Davis and wife, Lisa, of Petrolia, and Mike Davis and wife, Cindy, of Petrolia; four grandchildren Haylee Spence and husband, Ryan, of Wichita Falls, Jordan Ealy and husband, Jeff, of Wichita Falls, Shelby Hicks and husband, Clinton, of Fort Worth, and Cole Davis and wife, Kinsi, of Petrolia; and four great-grandsons Davis and Keller Spence, Owen Ealy, and Harrison Hicks.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 19th at Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta with Rev. Ron Barnard, officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery in Henrietta under the direction of Davis Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Monday evening, from 6:30 -7:30 pm at Davis Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Toby's name to the Petrolia Volunteer Fire Department.
