John Valentine Steiner, 92, of Lucinda, died Wednesday morning in the home of his son, Edward Steiner, at Lucinda. He was a brother of a local resident. Born on September 2, 1866, near Newmansville, Clarion County, he was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Ochs Steiner. He was married to the former Ludvina Schill, who died in 1903. Mr. Steiner was the oldest resident of Lucinda. He had lived in his present home for 65 years and worked as a farmer. Surviving are four children, Leo A. and Edward H. Steiner, both of Lucinda, Frank X. Steiner, of Erie, and Mrs. Christina Lane, of Buffalo, New York. Three sons preceded him in death. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Mary McMichael, of Newmansville, Mrs. Josephine LaPass, of Corry, Mrs. Cecilla Hufnagel, of Oil City, Mrs. Margaret McLaughlin, of Johnstown, William Steiner, of Boyer, and George and Fred Steiner, both of Lucinda. The body is at Faller Funeral Home, Fryburg, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m. High Mass of Requiem will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Church, Lucinda. Rev. William Holl, pastor, will officiate at the mass. Interment will be made in the church cemetery following the mass.
