Marilyn J. (Yost) White, 84, of Alliance, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 14, 2021.
Born on May 26, 1937 in Louisville, Ohio to Henry and Beatrice (Linder) Yost, she lived in Alliance all of her life.
A 1955 graduate of Alliance High School, Marilyn was employed at the Alliance Review for over 20 years.
Marilyn was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church where she was a Sacristan. She was also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Woman's Club, Infant of Prague and the Funtastiks. She volunteered at Alliance Community Hospital for many years.
Marilyn was truly an animal lover and enjoyed birdwatching. Her other interests were gardening and traveling, especially visiting the Outer Banks with family.
Because family gatherings and birthdays were so very important to her, she hosted all of them. She was known to discretely hand the grandchildren cash.
Survivors include three children, Susan (John) Meece of Alliance, OH, James A. (Vonda) White of Louisville, OH, Linda C. (Roger) Conrad of Canton, OH; five grandchildren, Katie (Grant) Porter of Alliance, OH, Erin (Zachary) Cline of Medina, OH, Joshua White of Louisville, OH, Lindsay (Seth Grondin) Conrad of Portland, ME, Eric ("CJ") Conrad of Medina, OH; two great-grandchildren, Addilyn and Quinn.
MiMi: "Swing, swing, swing under the maple tree" for us.
Other family members surviving include, her sister, Joan (Herb) Oyster of Alliance; a sister-in-law, Sandy Yost of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Jack C. White; her parents; two brothers, Edwin and Melvin Yost; and a sister, Jean Miller.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance, with Rev. G. David Weikart as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Stark County Humane Society, www.starkhumane.org, 5100 Peach St. NE, Louisville, OH 44641.
She always had a loving heart, open hand and a warm smile for everyone she loved, knew and met.
