Died, at her home in Garfield township, Webster county, Nebraska, on the 7th day of October, 1899, at 3:24 a.m., Alma J., wife of Geo. W. King. Alma J. Reed was born near Pickway Planes, Ohio, September 24, 1840.

In early childhood she, with her parents, removed to Hamilton county, Indiana. There at the early age of seven years she met with the loss of her father and four years later the loss of her mother. Left an orphan in the world she met with many hardships peculiar to their lot. April 24, 1856 she was married to George W. King in Johnson county, Indiana.

Shortly after their marriage they moved to Warren county, Iowa, where they resided until they came to their present home on June 1st, 1894.

Mrs. King was the mother of nine children, five of whom survive her. She had been an invalid for many years and a great sufferer. Her disease baffled the skill of many physicians. She bore it all with a patience and cheerfulness that endeared her to all who knew her. At the age of sixteen she found grace and pardon through faith in Jesus Christ, and was ever a faithful follower of her loving Master.
