Matthew S. "Matt" Smith, 42, of Burnham, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born on February 21, 1979 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he is a son of Alan and Shirley (Adair) Bell of Mifflintown.

On April 1, 2004, he married his surviving wife, Sara M. (Schaaf) Smith with whom he was blessed to share over 17 years of marriage.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by his children, Hannah M. Smith of Lewistown, Tysen S. Smith, and Jasen M. Smith, both of Burnham; two brothers, Donnie Smith and his wife Michelle of Shermans Dale and Eddie Smith and his companion Tracy McCabe of Upper Chichester; paternal grandparents, David T. and Patricia Bell of Mifflintown; his father and mother in law, Larry and Lila Schaaf of Lewistown; and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Madisen C. "Madi" Smith on August 15, 2021 and one brother, Jason Adair.

Matt was a 1997 graduate of Juniata High School in Mifflintown and a 1999 graduate of Thompson Institute.

He was employed as a Machine Operator at API Technologies in State College.

His hobbies included rooting on the Chicago Bears and the Penn State Nittany Lions but his greatest joy came from time spent with his family.

All Services will be private with Pastor John Walters officiating and Interment will take place at New Church Hill Cemetery, Port Royal.

Memorial Services are currently being planned and will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes, Inc., 100 Bridge St., Mifflintown.
