Dorothy May Cantrell Lowe Byrd, age 92, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 in Bristol, TN.

She was born in Buchanan County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Joseph Samuel and Arminda Jane Boyd Cantrell.

She was a lifelong resident of the Cedar Bluff area and attended both the Richlands First Assembly of God Church and the Holy Church of Faith in Bristol, TN. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Marcus Kelly Lowe, Jr and Clarence Roosevelt Byrd; two sons, Tommy James Lowe and Joseph Randel Lowe; two stillborn infants; daughter-in-law, Olivia Whited Lowe; one grandson, Aaron Keith Lowe; one great grandson, Desperado Gage Miller; three brothers, Charles Anderson Cantrell, John Edward Cantrell, and Robert E. Lee Cantrell; and six sisters, Mary Safrona Keen, Menda Alice Davis, Margaret Alafair Harman, Elizabeth Keen, Nancy Katherine Cantrell, and Rosalie (Sallie) Cantrell.

Funeral services for Dorothy May Byrd will be conducted Monday, October 18, 2021 at 2 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Buddy Herald and Sister Jackie Hill officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Dalton Lowe, Eddie Lowe, Allen Miller, Justin Lowe, Anthony Lowe, Joseph Lowe, Matthew Robinette, and Scott Keen. Honorary pallbearer will be Jonathan Lowe. Friends may call after 6 pm Sunday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
