She was born November 17, 1943, in Williamsport, a daughter of the late Leroy, Sr and Virginia M. (Adams) Fornwalt.
Sandra was a member of Lighthouse Wesleyan Church, and loved baking especially cakes.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Prince and Doris Ashton, and a brother, Leroy Fornwalt, Jr.
Surviving is her husband, of 58 years John A. Young; two sons, Eric W. Young, of Fairfield and Troy A. Young, of South Williamsport; two daughters, Wendy J. Young, of South Williamsport and Tara S. Young of Temple; a sister, Candace (Scott) Jensen, of Williamsport; three grandchildren, Steven A. (Laurie) Young, Leanne M. Young, and Erika N. (Justen) Grimes; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Orion, Adrian, and Nicholas.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 20, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Rev. Kenneth Lynn officiating. Burial will follow in Turbotville Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
