She was born in Baltic on January 23, 1936 to the late Walter and Carrie (Zehnder) Schlegel and married K. James Jones on November 13, 1954. He survives.
Kaye worked for many years at Middaugh Printers and Quick Print before retiring.
Kaye's family was everything to her. She was especially proud to have had a son, 3 grandsons and 2 great grandsons play in the Times-Reporter All Star Football game. She was a faithful follower of all her family's events.
She was a member of Dover Alliance Church and enjoyed knitting, baking pies, making caramel corn and her famous chop suey at Christmas time. She also enjoyed coloring her coloring books in recent years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three children, Cindy (Michael) Snyder and Kimberly (Edward) Klein, both of Sugarcreek and J. Randy (Teri) Jones of Dover; 10 grandchildren, Mick (Kelly) Snyder, Bo (Heather) Snyder, Ashlee Brandon, Adam(Tynisha) Klein, Nicholas (Amanda) Klein, Kaden (April) Klein, Zak (Cori) Patterson, Bret (Katie) Patterson, Jessica (Luke) West, Katie (Caleb Young) Jones; 16, great grandchildren; and her sister, Lana (William) Ricker of Dover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John (Sonny) Schlegel.
Private graveside services are being held at Union Hill Cemetery in Sugarcreek with a Celebration of Life service to be held at a future date. Smith-Varns Funeral Home is assisting the family with their arrangements.
