August 3, 1940 - October 15, 2021
Anderson, SC
Joyce Honea Dunn, age 81, of Anderson, SC, passed away Friday, October 15, 2021.
She was born on August 3, 1940, to the late Robert and Lois Honea in Anderson, SC, where she lived her entire life. She was married to her late husband, Ralph William Dunn, Sr. for 45 years with who she shared two sons, Ralph Jr. (deceased) and Robert (Tommy) Dunn. She was adored by her two grandchildren, Ralph Dunn, III (Trai) and Kassidie Dunn, and three great-grandsons, Zane Dunn, James Dunn, and Tanner Sealy. She is also survived by her sister, Edna Speers.
Joyce loved her job at Eleanor's Dress Shop in downtown Anderson, serving as manager until they closed; but her greatest role in life was being a mother and grandmother. She was the matriarch of her family and honest to a fault. Her family will remember her most for her fun, outgoing personality and home cooked meals that can never be replicated. She had a servant's heart and would always make enough to feed her neighbors or friends and family in need.
Joyce was a fan of NASCAR and the Atlanta Braves. She enjoyed traveling, yard work, going to yard sales, and attending Asbury Baptist Church until her health declined. She cherished all holidays with family and made sure each one celebrated was fun and memorable.
A private service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. DeLennon Stowe officiating.
