Lydia Ann was the second of two children born to Menno S. Weber and Rachel Clemens. A brother, Simon, died in infancy.

Lydia Ann's father and mother died when she was 13 years old (dying nine months apart). The 1881 Census of Canada finds Lydia Ann living with her uncle and aunt, Isaac and Esther (Weber) Moyer in Waterloo Township.

Lydia Ann became the wife of Simon M. Schiedel on January 1, 1885, in Waterloo Township. The couple had three children: Anson, Wesley, and Myra.

A young wife and mother, Lydia Ann died in June 1890 at the age of 23 years.

Obituary
On the 10th of June 1890, near Breslau, Ontario, Lydia Ann, wife of Simon Schiedel, and only daughter of Bro. and Sister Menno Weber, deceased, aged 23 years, 5 months and 14 days. She leaves her husband and two little children to mourn her early departure. Funeral services by Noah Stauffer and Moses Weber, from Rev. 14: 13. She accepted Christ as her salvation a few months before her death, and died in the triumphs of the Christian faith.
