Kathleen "Kathy" Marie McMahon Lewis, age 73, passed away on September 9, 2021 in Nashville, Tennessee at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Kathy was born in Cortland, New York on April 23, 1948. She was the eldest daughter to the late Richard Thomas McMahon and Shirley Marie (Gillette) McMahon. Kathy was a 1966 graduate from Homer High School in Homer, NewYork. She later moved to Knoxville, Tennessee where she worked with horses and boarding for a couple of years. After moving back to New York, she worked as a milk tester for Sealtest for Central New York. She also worked for the Homer School District as a Bus Driver, for the New York State Department of Transportation as an operator and safety trainer, then later retiring in 2009 from the New York State Department of Transportation office in Syracuse. She was a Union President and on the Board of Directors for Civil Services Employee Association for the New York State Department of Transportation. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Cheri McCord; brothers, Thomas McMahon and Daniel McMahon. She is survived by her wife, Sadie Ross; son, Nicholas (Ashley) Lewis; daughter, Meghan (Frank) Gardner; stepson, Robert (Melanie) Ross; stepdaughter, Dawn (Wayne) Carpenter; brothers, Michael (Edie) McMahon, Brian McMahon, Kevin (Moira) McMahon, Peter (Annette) McMahon, Shawn (Nancy) McMahon, Steven (Heidi) McMahon; sisters, Carol (Duane) Milton, Monica (Tim) Willsey; grandsons, Kevin (Harley) McCord II, Brady (Kelly) McCord, Jeffrey (Kaitlyn) McCord, Josh Trimm; granddaughters, Makenzie Lewis, Phoebe Lewis, Audrey Lewis, Makenna Guy, Paisleigh Guy, Marin Gardner, Gwen Gardner, Ashley (Michael) Crapo, Alexis Hall; 9 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held on October 16, 2021 from 1:00-4:00pm at Cortland Country Music Park & Campground (1824 NY-13, Cortland, NY 13045).
