Bernice Williams, 92, of Gainesville, Florida passed away peacefully on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Haven E.T. York Hospice Care Center.

A lifelong resident of Gainesville, Mrs. Williams was born on June 17, 1929 in Gainesville, FL to Ike Elliott and Rachel Days. She was employed as a Dry Cleaning Presser and was a member of First Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as President of the Senior Choir, member of the Mother's Board, and Chairperson of the Annual Family and Friends Day program. Mother Williams was also a member of Female Protective Society Lodge #2, the Community Benefit Society, the First Division Union, and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her husband, T.D. Williams, and her daughter, Frankie Williams.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories; two daughters, Julia Williams and Helga Williams, both of Gainesville, FL; her son, Ted Williams (Kathy) of Gainesville, FL; step-daughter, Pamela Zeigler of Gainesville, FL; one sister, Betty Wallace of Gainesville, FL; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; and many other relatives and caring friends.

Visitation for Mrs. Williams will be Friday, October 15, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Chestnut Memorial Chapel, 18 NW 8th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32601.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Passage Family Church, 2020 NE 15th Street, Gainesville, FL 32609, George B. Dix, Sr., Pastor, with Reverend Willie G. Mayberry, officiating. All in attendance are asked to please wear a facial mask. Social distancing will also be observed.

Burial will follow in Rutledge Community Cemetery, 4409 NW 23rd Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32606.

Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:00 AM at Mother Williams' Residence, 309 NW 53rd Terrace, Gainesville, FL 32607 to form the Cortege.
