Warren William Conklin circa 1870. Warren was the son of Whitman Conklin and Mary Elizabeth Brown. For part of his youth he was raised in the Landing section of Smithtown, NY in close proximity to the Darling family and his future wife, Ida Augusta Darling. It is said that he was a cook on a whaling vessel out of Sag Harbor as a young man.
