Richard Jackson was born at Eccleston in Lancashire. He came into Ireland in the year 1649 and he took to wife Margaret Keete at Carrickfergus in the year 1650: she was born at Maulbory in Wiltshire by whom he had these children:

1651 Sarah, Sarah Jackson a daughter was born at Carrickfergus in the County of Antrim in the Province of Ulster ye 18th of ye 7th month [September]

1653 John, John Jackson a son was born at Lisnashom in the County of Doune in the Province of Ulster ye 2nd of ye 12th month [February 1653/4]

1656 Thomas, Thomas Jackson a son was born at Hoy in the County of Doune ye 30th of ye 9th m [November]

1659 Robert, Robert Jackson a son was born at Bally Christoll in the Kings County [Offaly] ye 20th of ye 5th m [July]

1662 Isaac, Isaac Jackson a son was born at Mountmellick in the Queens County [Laois] ye 20th of ye 1st month [March 1662/3]

1664 Isaac, son to Richard and Margaret Jackson departed this life about the 19th of the 8th month [October] and was buried at Rosanallis in ffriends burying place and was ye 1st that was buryed in that Graveyard.

1679 Richard Jackson deceased the 7th day of the 2nd month [April] in Mountmellick in ye parish of Rosanallis & Queens County he was born in Lancashire and was a Soldier in the Army of England & Ireland some years; he was Convinced of God's Everlasting Truth & in ye Lord's people bearing his share of sufferings as it came, whether spoyl of goods or imprisonment of body for the Testymony of ye Blessed Truth which he had received of ye Lord, and in which he believed. [there then continues a short essay on his merits as a Quaker]
