Son of Major George Steptoe Washington and Lucy Payne. Married Margaret Calhoun Fletcher, daughter of General Thomas Fletcher who served on the staff of Gen William Henry Harrison; and a grand daughter of Count de Fletcher, who came to America with Marquis de LaFayette, entered the Continental Army as a private, and rose to the rank of Captain.

vii. Ferdinand Steptoe Washington, CSA, b. 22 JAN 1843, d. 22 AUG 1912-Of the Confederate Home, Little Rock, AR.
