Born on July 20, 1943 in Scranton, PA to the late Nicholas and Anna (Bochnak) Salak, she was a longtime member of St. Basil's Russian Orthodox Church, Simpson, PA. She was a 1961 graduate of Waymart High School, Waymart, PA. She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Mansfield State College, Mansfield, PA, and her Master of Science and Education degree from the State University of New York, Cortland.
She was a loving wife and devoted aunt to her niece and nephews. Her passions included teaching, singing, playing piano, gardening, snowmobiling, and riding ATV's. She was also a great lover of animals, especially her German Shepherds, Gretel and Heidi.
Surviving are a brother, Nicholas G. Salak, Berkshire, NY; a nephew, David A. Salak, Berkshire; a niece, Andrea L. Salak, Buffalo, NY; a nephew, Mark A. Salak and wife Jennifer, Hendersonville, NC; a great-nephew, Torsten; and many cousins, special friends and co-workers.
