Walter married Fanny Somerville, daughter of Harry Francis and Fanny Owen Somerville, on July 25, 1931 in Calvin, OK. They were the parents of Joanne Lambert Todd. He spent a lifetime in the Stuart area and owned and operated the Palace Drugstore in Stuart since 1934. He served as city clerk, on the Board of Directors of the 1st National Bank of Holdenville, and Sunday School teacher for several years in Stuart. He was a member of the Stuart Church of Christ where he taught and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. His wife; daughter; and two sisters, Minnie Worel of Stuart and Selma Sims of Wichita Falls, TX, survive him. Funeral service was held Saturday, March 25, 1978. Elvin Lindley, George Holloway, Lowell Blasengame, Wayne Hull, Larry Briggs and Harold Skinner were pallbearers.
