She married Donald D. Wood on April 30, 1955 and they moved to Denver. She lived on Osceola Street and raised her family there, they had a close group of neighbor friends she called her "Osceola Family". Dorothy's husband and love of her life passed away in July of 1999. After that Dorothy lived for over 11 years at Masters Touch Home in Centennial. Dorothy had many hobbies: she loved to sew and knit, painting, bowling, fishing and golfing. She loved "sports" being a big fan of the Rockies, Broncos, Nebraska Cornhuskers and Avalanche. Most importantly she loved and was very devoted to her family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her 2 children Michael Wood (wife Donna) and daughter Sherry Johnson (husband Scott) and 6 grandchildren, Lindsay Johnson, Stephen Wood (wife Alyssa), Daniel Wood, Kacey Corbin (husband Cody), John Wood and Anna Wood, and 2 great grandchildren, Michael Wood and Jeremiah Wood.
