Virginia Dare Corbett passed away peacefully at the age of 102, on June 15, 2018.
Virginia was one of nine children proudly born to William and Lillian Crisp in Greenville, North Carolina. She devoted her life to her family, lovingly earning the nickname "Granny." Her days were filled enjoying the simple things of life: her family, her faith, flowers and birds.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Wayne) Hodge; sisters, Lou Crisp and Joyce Gurley; brothers, Al Crisp and William Crisp; 11 grandchildren, Debra Brown, Worth Johnson Jr., Terri Wise, Billy Johnson, Cindy Corbett, Tim Corbett, Wade Hodge, Kenneth Hodge, Scott Hodge, Tina Serra and David Corbett; many great and great great-grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Hassie Corbett, daughter, Dorothy Johnson; sons, Billy Corbett and Wayne Corbett; and granddaughter, Kathy Bailey.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Craig Funeral Home followed by burial at 2 p.m. at Restlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville.
Craig Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
