Richard Lee Hoffman, age 87, of Marion passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at 9:58 AM in the Marion General Hospital Emergency Room. He was born in Marion, Ohio on September 23, 1934 to the late Mark and Maude Elizabeth (Rech) Hoffman. Richard married the former Charlotte Ann Rogers on January 22, 1955 in Marion and she preceded him in death on July 21, 2006.

He was employed as a yardman for over 30 years with both the Erie-Lackawanna & Conrail Railroads. Richard was an outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association and American Legion Post 584.

The lifelong Marion resident is survived by a loving daughter, Karen Hoffman of Marion, Ohio, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Charlotte, a son, William Curtis Hoffman, five brothers, one sister, and a half sister.

Visiting hours and a memorial service are planned for a later date this month and will be announced on this website.
