Ansel Ray Longino 1938-2021. The Lord called Ray home on October 9, having saved him a place in heaven next to his wife Betty and son Matthew. Ray was born in Cordele, GA, raised in Andersonville, GA, and moved to Jacksonville in 1959, just after marrying Betty. He worked as a buyer for PYA Monarch in Jacksonville until 1987 and then in their Greenville, SC, office until retiring in 2003. He and Betty then settled in Fleming Island. Ray was an avid golfer, enthusiastic fisherman, and zealous recycler. He was always quick with a joke. In addition to Betty and Matthew, he was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Florence, and his brothers Gene and Ronnie. He is survived by his daughter Susan Higgins (Jeff) and his daughter-in-law, Theresa. A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery in Jacksonville on October 30 at 1:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice.
