Betty was the daughter of Lugene Walton and Mary Brown Walton. She was educated in the West Palm Beach School System and was a Class of 1971 graduate of Twin Lakes High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. She resided in West Palm Beach, Florida until moving back to Georgia in November of 2006. Upon settling in Americus, Georgia, she was employed with Dr. John Marshall for 8 years.
