Dorothy Jean (Pishner) DeFazio, 88, passed away on October 12, 2021, at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Dorothy was a devoted wife and loving mother. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Marty, and her daughter, Tammy. From 1962 until 1994, she and her husband owned and operated Marty's Italian Bakery, Inc. In the last years of her life, she and her husband made their home at St. Barbara's Nursing Home.

Born on June 4, 1933, Dorothy was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by her parents, Angeline (Storage) and Patsy Pishner, her brothers, James and Joseph Pishner, her sisters, Mary (Pishner) Hurst, Catherine M. (Pishner) Tate, Virginia M. (Pishner) Salerno, and nephews, Roger J. Pishner and Michael A. DeFazio, brothers-in-law, Joseph and Sylvester "Sub" DeFazio, and Benny Quinones, sisters-in-law, Carmella (DeFazio) Quinones, Virginia (Ferrella) DeFazio, and Joan (Tapp) DeFazio.

In addition, Dorothy is survived by her brothers-in-law, Frank DeFazio, Augustine "Auggie" DeFazio, and Anthony DeFazio, and sisters-in-law, Mary (DeFazio) Hustead, Angie DeFazio, and Jackie DeFazio. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

The family wishes to acknowledge everyone at St. Barbara's for their patient, kind and attentive care, and to thank special friends, Ron and Sandra Gonzalez, Mark and Kimberly Hinkle, Marsha and Billy Pearson, Becky and Alan Sherry, Judy, Jill, and Shelly Poe, Annette Talley and Linda Hayes, whose many kindnesses will never be forgotten.

Dorothy was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church.

Dorothy will be missed every, single day.

Per Dorothy's request, cremation services were provided.

A memorial drive-by tribute will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Dorsey Funeral Home, 701 S. Pike St., Shinnston, WV, from 2:00-6:00pm.
