George Delmas Wright, Chief Master Sergeant, USAF (Ret.), passed away on October 7, 2021, at his residence in Glendale, Arizona. George was born on August 16,1934 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky to the late Lenora Smith and George Samuel Wright. He married Ina Faye Wright in 1955 in Texas and they had five children together. He spent 30 years of active enlistment in the USAF, where he retired at Luke Airforce Base in 1982. George was an avid sports fan of the Arizona Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching Westerns, going to the movies, going to the casino and spending time with family. He enjoyed traveling to his family reunions to see his siblings and their families. George was an incredible man who was wise, loving, and patient. He touched many lives while here on earth. His love will continue to fill everyone's hearts.
George is survived by his five children Patricia Brooks, George Wright Jr, Clifton Wright, Kenneth Wright and Trina Askew. In addition, he leaves behind his 10 grandchildren; Russell Parr Jr., Janelle Wright, Chanelle Giglio, Diamond Johnson, Jordan Wright, Candace Wright, Sydney Wright, Madison Wright, Caitlin Wright, and Taylor Wright; and 8 great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to the funeral service at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W Northern Avenue, Glendale, Arizona 85301 on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 10:30am. He will be laid to rest at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona 85024 on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 1pm.
