A graveside service was Monday at Hickerson Memorial Cemetery in Homer. The Rev. Floyd Seekins officiated. Pallbearers included Carl Irvine, Ben Boyer, Lou Strutz, Lyle Albertson, Clark Boyer and Darrel Walker. Honorary pallbearer was Gus Weber.

Mr. Albertson was born April 15, 1927, to Albert and Sena Albertson in Twilight, Butte County, S.D. He entered the U.S. Army during World War II and was honorably discharged.

Mr. Albertson moved to Homer in April 1964 and worked as a carpenter and home builder, retiring in 1989. He established Albertson Sharpening Service, which he continued to operate in retirement.

He enjoyed bowling, snowmachining, four-wheeling, hunting, fishing, traveling and woodworking.

"Hans loved woodworking and custom built many homes in the Homer area," his family wrote. "He also loved the outdoors, especially snowmachining in the winter. His retirement years were spent keeping the tools of Homer sharpened."

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Elsie Albertson of Homer; son and daughter in-law, Lyle and Carol Albertson of San Jose, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie and Clark Boyer of Hillsboro, Ore.; grandsons, Benjamin and Matthew Boyer of Hillsboro; sister, Margaret Seieroe of Sun City, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1057 W. Fireweed Lane, Suite 100, Anchorage 99503.
