Carol was one of 11 children. She attended school in Jewell County and Superior Public Schools.
She was united in marriage to Daryl Ellis Clyde on January 4, 1956 at the United Methodist Church in Fairbury and to this union was born three sons. Carol was employed as a secretary for Bostwick Irrigation, and managed the American Legion Club for several years with her husband.
Over the years, Carol enjoyed crafting, lending a hand to her husband's woodworking projects, spending time with her family, and a cup of coffee with her siblings and friends on Saturday mornings. A conversation would hardly pass without a smile on her face and that Darling family laugh or two along the way.
Due to her health, she entered the Superior Good Samaritan Society in December of 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Hannah; husband Daryl; son Mike; daughter-in-law Rhonda Clyde; brothers Wilber, Doyle and Max Darling and sisters Helen Ewer, Geneva Sloane, Irene Gholson, Joan Albertson and Leota Heiden.
