David Paul Rayburn September 14, 1961 - October 09, 2021
David Paul Rayburn, age 60 of Paris, Arkansas, went to his Heavenly Home on Saturday, October 9, 2021, while in the care of Mercy Hospice Fort Smith. He was born on September 14, 1961, in San Diego, California, to Charles and Alta Marie (Hutton) Rayburn. David was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Jim, Kenny, and Charles and other friends and family both two legged and four legged.

David was a servant. He found joy in working, both paid and unpaid. His vocation included food service at Subiaco Abbey and Academy overseeing bakery, kitchen and laundry. Before that he worked in San Diego as a school custodian. Organizing, delegating and problem solving were in David's DNA and he excelled in those tasks wherever he was. He spent many hours volunteering and giving to ministries at Paris First United Methodist Church where he was a member and wherever he was asked or saw a need whether for family, friends, those in the community, and for those he never met. David was often the first to give, offer help, or name a need and prompt others to join him-unless of course he could just take care of it himself, which he often did. He was constantly checking on those who were suffering even in the midst of his own.

A family held memorial service will be held at Paris First United Methodist Church on Monday, October 18th at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Judy Hall. Cremains will be interred at Jackson Cemetery, Grenades Chapel, located north of Ozark.

He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 35 years, Jackie Forbus Rayburn; two sisters, Connie (Wayne) Overstreet and Nancy (Roger) Nelson; bonus mom, Oralee Rayburn; and many other beloved family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Paris First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 506 Paris, AR 72855, or phone (479) 963-8000, designated to Food Ministry or David's Closet (a gathering of gently used or new medical equipment to be given to those in need.)
