Kenneth Leroy Stewart, 87, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 2:15 pm October 11, 2021 at his residence. He was born March 21, 1934 in Mount Vernon to the late Raymond and Pauline (Sinks) Stewart. Kenneth married Gina (Cathers) Stewart on March 21, 2011. They were blessed with 33 years together, including 10 years of marriage.

In addition to his beloved wife, Kenneth is survived by his children, Kenny Stewart and wife, Lori of Mount Vernon, Tammy Stewart of Mount Vernon, Lee Roy Stewart and wife, Tanya of Nashville, Illinois, and Misty Smith and husband, Travis of Sesser, Illinois; grandchildren, Nathan Graham and wife, Tiffany of Aviston, Illinois, Zachary Graham of Aviston, Isabella Atkins and husband, James of Saint Louis, Missouri, Cody Rector of Mount Vernon, James Waugh and significant other, Courtney, and Ali Waugh; great-grandchildren, Mallorie McDanel and significant other, Nick, Joseph McDanel and wife, Emily, and Caitlyn McDanel, all of Mount Vernon; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Larry Stewart and wife, Sue, Bobby Stewart and wife, Carol, and Bill Don Stewart and wife, Charlotte; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his grandson, David McDanel; and siblings, Ronald Stewart, Paula Sinks, Betty Johnson, Gary Stewart, Bruce Stewart, Raymond Stewart, Jr., and Noel Stewart.

Kenneth proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked at General Radiators for 30 years and then as a truck driver for 18 years. Kenneth was a member of the Shiners. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and hanging out in his garage. Kenneth was always willing to help someone in need. He never hesitated to offer you his tools, or even a beer. He was a loving husband, a caring father, and a loving grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
