Roy Kenneth Watson, 83, of Ruckersville, Va., died on October 9, 2021 at his home.

Born on March 1, 1938 in Greene County, Va., he was the son of the late Delma and Doris Watson.

Roy was employed at Sam's Club for 14 years. He enjoyed his family and friends. He will be missed by his many friends, including brothers Everette Smith and Harold Smith, three special sisters in law, special friends Hunter Marshall, Eddie Jones who called him every day from South Carolina, and Sharon Donovan, and many adopted daughters and grandkids. They will all miss him.

Roy loved Christmas time and making barbecue chicken. He enjoyed chili when it was cold, and Harold Fruit Cakes, and the Korner Restaurant.

Besides his many friends, Roy is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Linda Watson; and his daughter Tammy Via and her significant other Scott Turner.

Special thanks to the caregivers at Hospice of the Piedmont and to pastor Clay Marsh.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Hill & Wood Funeral Home – Greene Chapel, 15075 Spotswood Trail, Ruckersville, Virginia.

His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Hill & Wood Funeral Home – Greene Chapel, with Clay Marsh officiating. Burial will follow at Monticello Memory Gardens.
