Jackson "Jackie" Flynn, age 77 of Noel, Missouri, died Friday, December 7, 2007 at his home with his family by his side.
Jack was born March 19, 1930 in Lanagan, Missouri, the son of Dallas Jackson "Jack" and Mary Pauline (Watson) Flynn.
He and Ruby Grace Morgan were married June 4, 1952 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Jack was a Veteran of the U. S. Army. Most of his life was spent traveling around the world; stationed eight years in Germany. He was an Army chef, in which he received several awards and prepared several meals for General Eisenhower; he also received four good conduct medals and a purple heart; he retired from the military after 23 years.
Jack moved back to Noel in 1973. Jack loved to paint; was a self trained mechanic; he liked restoring old cars and could always be found feeding the birds and squirrels.
Jack was a member of the Noel United Methodist Church.
He was predeceased by his parents.
Jack is survived by his wife of 55 years; four children, Ricky E. Flynn of Noel, Missouri, Jeffery Flynn (and wife, Sondra) of Bentonville, Arkansas, Randy Flynn of Noel, Missouri and Paula Metcalf (and husband, Rudy) of Belton, Missouri; two brothers, Bill Bob Flynn (and wife, Billye) of Kansas City, Missouri and John Flynn of Nixa, Missouri; a sister, Diane Master of Webb City, Missouri; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many relatives, friends and neighbors..
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 10, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Noel, Missouri. Pastor David Howlett will officiate. Military Rites will be conducted by the Pineville/Jane American Legion Post #392.
Pallbearers will be Randy Flynn, Erik Largent, Jeremiah Flynn, Josh Mullens, Rudy Metcalf and Dewayne Largent
Visitation with family will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time, Monday, December 10, 2007 at the United Methodist Church in Noel, Missouri .
Burial will be at the Lanagan Cemetery in Lanagan, Missouri.
