Betty Sue Patrick Cole was born November 1, 1955 to Joe Loper and Mary Patrick in Neshoba County, MS. She was raised and lived with John Henry Patrick and Lucindy Patrick.
She attended Booker T. Washington High School and Philadelphia High School in Philadelphia, MS. She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a very young age and was a member of Mt. Nebo Missionary Baptist Church in Philadelphia, MS. Betty worked at Garan's Manufacturing in Philadelphia, MS for several years. Later in life, she worked and retired at Tyson Foods in Carthage, MS.
She married Benny Cole, the son of John Henry Cole and Johnnie B. Prince Cole, who was also a native of Neshoba County, MS. She was the beloved mother of four children, two daughters and two sons.
Betty Sue Patrick Cole, age 65, of Philadelphia, Mississippi passed on Friday, October 8, 2021 from Rush Foundation Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi.
She was the Wife of Benny Cole; the Mother of Benny L. Cole, Keith D. Cole, Cindy L. Cole, and Denitra T. Cole Hicks; the Grandmother of eight grandchildren, Shekira Cole, Cortez Cole, Kedrianna Cole, Bailee Fairley, Roniya Cole, Kennedy Hicks, Kassidy Holder, and Kaiden Carr; the Great Grandmother of two great grandchildren, Makinley Cole and Mekhi Cole; the Daughter of Joe Loper and Mary Patrick; the Adopted Daughter of John Henry Patrick and Lucindy Patrick; the Sister of John Wallace Taylor, Arthur Taylor, Jo Ann Tyson, Peggy Patrick, Teresa Skinner, Shelia Carawy, Brenda Black, Bobbie Joe Loper, David Loper, Helen Paris, and Maxine Loper.
Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from Mt. Nebo M.B. Church in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Burial followed in the Donald Rest Cemetery in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Visitation was 4:30 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 12, 2021 from Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia. Beck Funeral Home Philadelphia were in charge of all arrangements. Pallbearers were John Wallace Taylor, Kenyota Hicks, Cortez Cole, James Nixon, Anthony Nixon, and Lee Arthur Coleman. The officiating minister was Rev. John W. Smith.
