Robert J. Marek, age 79, of Grayslake, Illinois passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021. Robert was born February 20, 1942 to the late John and Monica Marek. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Beloved husband of Alice nee Kelly; dear brother of Evelyn (the late George) Biard, Dennis Marek, Joseph (Marcia) Marek, Lorraine (Kenneth) Malecki, Dolores (James Isacson) Marek, Jerome (Angela) Marek, Richard (Marcia) Marek, and the late Audrey Marek (the late Carter); loving uncle of Dawn, Russell, Randall, Matthew, John, Jeff, David, Steven, Billy, Peter, Kenneth, Thomas, Daniel, Claudia, Holly, Monica, Catherine, Chris and Jeremy.
A visitation for Robert will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 North Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60646. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home. A committal & interment service will follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, 8600 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, IL 60714.
